Bold-Striped Wild Silk Shawl
The women spinners and weavers of Federation Sahalandy created this unique, exquisite silk shawl. Woven in a traditional village pattern, the natural and naturally-dyed warp has vertical striping. All fiber is handspun from silk cocoons. Sahalandy launched in 2006 and is made up of seven weaving cooperatives located throughout the surrounding communities of Fandriana, in the mountain area of Sahdrandahy, Madagascar.
