Floral-Design Tsutsugaki Fabric

This length of handwoven, bast-fiber (linen or hemp) fabric has been dyed using a resist-dye technique called tsutsugaki in which a design is drawn on the cloth through a stencil, using a rice paste resist as each color is applied. Soft shades of lavender, purple, blue, gold and green form the floral design which repeats approximately every 25 inches along the length of the fabric. The fabric is in very good condition.
