Join Thrums Books and Center for Traditional Textiles Cusco for an evening of celebration with authors Nilda Alvarez Callañaupa, Christine Franquement, photographer Joe Coca and Peruvian painter Angel L. Callañaupa Alvarez in the beautiful city of Cusco, Peru.
Thrums Books and the Museo Machu Picchu Casa Cancha will welcome Andean Elders to a festive event celebrating the release of Thrums’ new books, Faces of Tradition: Weaving Elders of the Andes and Beyond the Stones of Machu Picchu: Folk Tales and Stories of Inca Life during Tinkuy de Tejedores: A Gathering of Weavers in November 2013. The celebration will take place on November 14 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. PET at the new Museo Machu Picchu Casa Cancha in Cusco, Peru, and will feature singing, dancing, a colorful presentation honoring the Andean Elders, and an opportunity to meet the authors and artists of the books. The museum will also dedicate two galleries to original photographs by Joe Coca and colorful paintings by Peruvian artist Angel L. Callañaupa Alvarez, whose works are featured in the books.
The exhibit at Museo Machu Picchu Casa Cancha in Cusco will be open to the public until December 15, 2013.
