Product Description
These naturally dyed alpaca scarves take full advantage of the wide range of natural wool colors to create handsome stripe patterns. The fiber is handspun and the yarn is then handwoven on backstrap looms to produce the finished products. Each scarf is medium weight with a good drape and is finished with twisted fringe.
Felicitas Huaman Quillahuanam, a Chinchero artisan, made this scarf as a member of the Center for Traditional Textiles in Cusco, Peru. CTTC works with Quechua women and their families to ensure that their 2000-year old textile traditions continue to thrive, and to aid in economic development.
