Finely hand woven silk is resist dyed, then dyed with natural dyes, creating an elegant scarf that can also be work as a shawl.

The master artisans from India hand print using a specialized, centuries-old process called Bagru. A metal and/or mineral mordant paste is printed on the silk fabric using wooden blocks, then dyed in natural dyes extracted from dried flowers and fruits, the paste removed, leaving the artisan’s mark upon the cloth’s surface.

Designer Hemangini Singh works with master artisans in India and Nepal. Ethical conduct and social responsibilities are her trademarks in doing business with its artisans. By buying their product one automatically becomes part of an ongoing movement reviving traditional textile skills, creating a productive environment for the artisans, and reinstating their status in society.
