Product Description
This colorful handwoven bag in cochineal and sage green with rose, gold and indigo accents has a decorative upper band. The pattern is a special motif from Chinchero, a member village in the Peruvian Highlands of the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco. The colors are derived from flowers, roots, insect, and bark.
This durable and finely handwoven alpaca/wool bag features one interior zipped pocket, a zipped 14” top closure, and double carrying straps. The double straps and top trim are woven of sturdy warp-faced striped bands. Top of the bag is finished with the nawi awapa trim.
This bag was woven by Florentina Quispe Huaman, a member of the Chinchero community and cooperative member of the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco, Peru.
