Large circle patterns like galaxies play throughout this silk scarf, all formed using the Indian bandhani technique.
As a master bandhani and dye artisan, Aziz Khatri uses the tie-and-dye resist technique to create the dark blue background with patterns and edges in turquoise and lime green.
Abdul Aziz Khatri learned the art of bandhani from his family, the traditional patterns from his mother and grandmother, and dyeing techniques from his father. In 2005, Aziz expanded his proficiency by studying at Kala Raksha Vidhylaya, a design school in Kutch, India. Learn more about Aziz and resist-dyeing techniques.
