Product Description

This navy blue-and-red striped, handwoven cotton scarf is modern and traditional—ready to wear casually or for dramatic flair.

Graduated light to dark striping undulates across the center of the scarf, created by alternating thick and thin stripes, creating a moire effect. The end borders of the scarf are further accented with traditional inlaid motifs and patterned stripes created with a heavier yarn. Featherstitch twining embellishes the edge, and individual tassels are added for fine finishing.

Inspired by the rich heritage traditions of the local region, Dayalal Kudecha of For Line Weaving of Kutch, is a master weaver based in the weaving village of Bhujodi, Gujarat, India. He is a faculty member of the Somaiya Kala Vidya, an institution for traditional artisans of Kutch. Read more about Dayalal in this blog.
