Product Description

This intricately hand-stitched and appliqued pillow cover adds a contemporary accent to your home.

The all-cotton fabrics used for the design applique are made by fellow Ajrakh artisans—Ajrakh is the traditional woodblock-printed cloth using natural dyes.  The various designs are stylized motifs of flowers, peacocks, scorpions, cats, trees, or other local plants. The pillow is edged with a thin black cord further accentuating the design. The back cover has no stitching; the closure is envelope-style made for ease of pillow insertion.

The Qasab-Kutch Craftswomen’s Producer Co. Ltd is a collective enterprise of 1500 + rural women from 11 ethnic communities spread across 65 villages in the arid interior of Kutch, India. Collectively, these artisans use their traditional skills to sustain their craft and culture while ensuring a dignified income.
