Handwoven of Laotian silk, this fabric is a gold-toned beige. Constructed in plain weave, the fine, plied natural-white white warp is set to allow the thicker mustard-colored natural silk weft to dominate the surface. The weft is dyed with Houkouang (Terminalla catappa). The variation in thickness and occasional slubs produce a subtle weft-wise grain. It is a light-weight fabric with good drape. It is strong enough to use for interior decor, yet pliable enough for a shirt-weight jacket. Hand wash the fabric and air dry.
The fabric is sold by the yard.
