Horizontal bands of alpaca wool in beautiful natural browns, white, and black frame a horizontal band of traditional motifs. Woven by artisans from the CTTC village of Accha Alta, Peru, each bag varies slightly according to the person who made it.
Fully lined, the bag is well-constructed and has an interior zippered pocket and a zippered closure. The flat base, about 11″ long x 3.5″ wide, gives the bag additional structure. Traditional double woven straps make this a comfortable shoulder bag. Soft and pliable, yet sturdy and well-formed, the bag is a pleasure to carry.
Backstrap woven by Mercedes Mamani Condori, a member of the Accha Alta village and cooperative member of Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco, located in the Peruvian Highlands of Cusco. The Center for Traditional of Cusco (CTTC) aids Quechua-speaking artisans in preserving Peruvian Inca textiles and weaving traditions, as well as in community networking and marketing.
