Product Description
This handwoven alpaca scarf is made on a backstrap loom with special emphasis on the traditional patterning from the Huacatinco village, Ocongate region in the Peruvian Highlands of Cusco.
The scarf was woven by Quispe Garcia Simeona, a member of the Huacatinco cooperative. These artisans are members of the Center for Traditional Textiles in Cusco, Peru. CTTC works with Quechua weavers to ensure that their 2000-year old textile traditions continue to thrive, and to aid in economic development.
