Product Description
This handwoven 100% alpaca scarf is made on a backstrap loom with special emphasis on the traditional patterning from the Pitumarca village in the Peruvian Highlands of Cusco.
The scarf was woven by Alipio Melo Irco, a member of the Pitumarca cooperative. These artisans are members of the Center for Traditional Textiles in Cusco, Peru. CTTC works with Quechua weavers to ensure that their 2000-year old textile traditions continue to thrive, and to aid in economic development.
