This Peruvian 100% alpaca hat, or ch’ullo, is a masterful handknit made by The Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco (CTTC) artisans in the village of Huacatinco, Ocongate. It’s charming with a scalloped edge, decorative embellishments and a top tassel.
This natural alpaca hat was hand knit by Cansaya Condon Benito, a member of the Huacatinco cooperative. This artisan is a member of the Center for Traditional Textiles in Cusco, Peru. CTTC works with Quechua weavers and knitters to ensure that their 2000-year old textile traditions continue to thrive, and to aid in economic development.
To determine if this size fits: 17 inches — measure your child’s head circumference. These hats are measured without stretching; if you’d like a little more room, order the next circumference up.
