This large pillow featuring cochineal and sage green spotlights the unique weaving designs from the Accha Alta community in the Peruvian highlands. The two bands on this pillow represents traditional motifs often seen in Accha Alta weavings. Each design is based on the weaver who made it, but always influenced by traditional patterns.
The fabric for the cover is made from a blend of wool and alpaca which is hand woven on a backstrap loom. The pillow backs are dark brown wool with zippered closures; pillow insert not included.
This pillow is woven by Enrriqueta Huaman Qusipe, of Accha Alta, a member of the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco cooperative in the Peruvian Highlands.
