Two identical bands of zig zag motifs (mountains) frame the center band which features Pato (duck) in this hand woven naturally-dyed large pillow cover. This handsome pillow cover is made on a backstrap loom with special emphasis on the traditional patterning from Acopia in the Peruvian Highlands of Cusco.
The pillow front is woven from alpaca and wool fleece. The pillow back is plain gray commercial fabric with zippered closures. Pillow insert not included.
This pillow was woven by Faustina Mamani Ayma, a member of the Acopia village and cooperative member of Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco, located in the Peruvian Highlands of Cusco.
