Peruvian Shoulder Bag with Cochineal

Product Description

A handwoven, naturally-dyed shoulder bag from Chinchero weavers in Peru.

Bands of green and cochineal result in a beautiful traditional Peruvian bag.  The colors are derived from flowers, roots, insect, and bark. The colorful center band represents special motifs from Chinchero, a member village in the Peruvian Highlands of the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco. Each band represents an artisan’s personal expression.

This durable and finely handwoven alpaca/wool bag is fully lined, has an interior zipped pocket, a double carrying strap.

This bag was woven by Florentina Quispe Huamán of the Chinchero village and cooperative member of Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco, located in the Peruvian Highlands of Cusco.
