Naturally-dyed shoulder bag from Chinchero weavers.
This large, colorful handwoven bag has broad stripes with a decorative central band. The colors are derived from flowers, roots, insect, and bark. The center pattern is a special motif from Chinchero, a member village in the Peruvian Highlands of the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco.
The durable and finely handwoven alpaca/wool bag is fully lined, has an interior zipped pocket, and strong straps for carrying plenty. It has a zipped closure and the opening edge is finished with a special Peruvian braid.
About 17″ wide X 14″ high; bottom gusset approx 6″ X 10″; double straps approx 32″ long
This bag was woven by Eulogia Quispe Huaman, a member of the Chinchero village and cooperative member of Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco, located in the Peruvian Highlands of Cusco.
