This naturally-dyed handwoven tote features indigo accent with black leather trim and two matching decorative bands. The pattern is a special motif from Santa Tomas community of Chumbivilcas a member village in the Peruvian Highlands of the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco. The colors are derived from flowers, roots, insect, and bark.
This fully-lined bag features one interior zipped pocket, a zipped top closure with tassel, and double carrying straps. The double straps, bottom base, and top trim are black leather.
This tote bag was woven by Venancia Sivana Vargas, a member of the Santa Tomas community of Chumbivilcas, and cooperative member of the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco, Peru.
