Product Description

So soft and  supple you barely know it’s there–this lacy scarf has a beautiful design created by its weave structure. It is a perfect warm weather accent, either as a scarf or as a shoulder wrap.

Handspun wild silk is a hallmark of these novel scarves from Madagascar. The handwoven lacy weave structure in this scarf creates bands of ellipses set off by airy open bands. The yarn is medium to fine slubby wild silk. It is finished with simple knotted fringe.

Federation Sahalandy launched in 2006 to restore wild silk culture and traditional hand spinning and hand weaving. The Federation is made up of seven spinning and weaving cooperatives located throughout the surrounding communities of Fandriana, in the mountain area of Sahdrandahy, Madagascar.
